The Olney Central Lady Knights softball team took home some postseason honors at the Great Rivers Athletic Conference meetings on Wednesday. The Lady Knights finished with a 4th place finish in both the conference and region along with finishing fourth in the region tournament. OCC concluded the 2018 season with a 30-25 record, while setting season records for at-bats, doubles, triples, homeruns, RBI, runs, hits and team batting average.
Individually, Allyson O'Dell set single season records for homeruns (16) and RBI (81) and Brooke Miles tied the record for doubles in a season with 23. Katie Kuester became the all-time hits leader in school history with 165 (83 freshman year, 82 sophomore year). She also became the record holder for triples in a career with 10.
In addition to the individual and team honors, in a doubleheader sweep of Lincoln Trail on March 23 the Lady Knights won the 300th game since Coach Short took over the program in 2009.
